Holiday Needs

Give the greatest gift to a family in need! We need individuals and groups to adopt-a-family that is working through our program of services. It’s really easy and it has the THE BIGGEST IMPACT!  Each family breaks down their “wants” and “needs” on a form that is submitted to you. It is the expectation that you will be able to provide most of the needs, which are usually very practical items like clothing, shoes, towels, and sheets.

This is a great activity for groups!

Giving Tree Tags

Welcome House provides you with a list of needed items (we can even provide the tags!) for a communal holiday tree that is in an organization, church, school, or other public space. All items collected help our clients transition into stable housing by making their new house a home.

Host a Party

We’re always looking for volunteers to host holiday parties for clients! Hosting a party typically includes providing food and drinks, cups and plates and silverware, and maybe even a little entertainment like games or crafts. This is great for volunteer groups.

Activities with Clients

Traced-hand-Turkeys, personalized stockings, DIY holiday decorations, decorating ginger bread cookies – the possibilities are endless! Come hang out with the women and children staying at our Shelter and get crafty! This is a volunteer activity for individuals or small groups.

Deck the Halls

Bring on the DIY snowflakes and construction paper garland! Come decorate our lobby or shelter to make our spaces a little more cozy this holiday season!

Organize & Wrap Gifts

As holiday donations come in, we’re in need of helping hands to sort donations and help wrap gifts for our Adopt-A-Family program! This is a great individual OR group volunteer opportunity for your class, family, or coworkers.

To sign up for any of these holiday opportunities, contact Logan Harney at or call at (859) 431.8717.
