What is Coordinated Entry?
As part of the HEARTH regulations that govern Continuum of Care (CoC) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funding, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires all CoCs across the country to implement a coordinated entry system. Northern Kentucky’s Coordinated Entry system will work in partnership with Cincinnati’s system to ensure that individuals and families experiencing homelessness will have an equitable and centralized process for access to appropriate resources, in a person-centered approach that preserves choice and dignity. Coordinated Entry utilizes standardized tools and practices, has incorporated a system-wide housing first approach, and coordinates assistance so that those with the most severe service needs are prioritized.
